When he is not reading or writing, Gbenga is most likely listening to good music or playing the piano. His writings have appeared on Pank Magazine’s ‘This Modern Writer’ Blog, in Y! Magazine, and several online platforms. He believes in the inspirational power of words and pictures, which he explores in helping to make the world a better place.

A 2010 graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, he has worked with Action Health Incorporated, a Lagos-based Non-Governmental Organisation as a Youth Programme Assistant [2005] and Independent Consultant (research & documentation) [2007 & 2011]. In June 2007, he assessed sixteen partner organisations in four States – Nasarawa, Bauchi, Borno and Kaduna – working on the David & Lucille Packard Foundation-sponsored Expanded Access to Sexuality Education (EASE) Project in North-Eastern Nigeria, interviewing principal officers, staff and beneficiaries. A graduate of the LEAP Africa Integrity Institute (2006), Gbenga hopes to become a world-class business strategy consultant, contributing to global economic development in no small measure. He believes that “the change we want to see in Nigeria starts with each individual, then each family unit”. He blogs at Gbenga’s Notebook (www.gbengaawomodu.com) and lives in Lagos, Nigeria.

    i have just come back from ASA concert at the barbican london, today the 4th of April 201 and must say she a star and she knows it .To sum up the concert, i was happy i went and the wait was worth while, the concert was sold out so i had to wait for any cancellation.
    She played songs mostly from her new album beautiful Imprefection and it helped that i knew all the songs as i got a copy on falomo bridge on my last visit to Lagos in January
    Her second to the last song was bamidele which frankly i didnt know though when i texted my sister i was at the concert she told me about ‘bamidele’ and all i can say that song is POWERFUL!! , its a song that gives goose pimples !!! Naija has an angel in ASA she is naija’s own lauryn hill .God Bless ASA and her gift can’t wait for seun Kuti on his africa soul rebel tour starting 13th April at the royal festival hall i am currenlty listening to his from africa with fury his new joint with egypt 80 .Gbenga i too went to CMS grammar school UP School UP boys .If you get a chance hit my blog above Peace i was at grama when the music master was there baba mose, td teacher Mr Oke and Maths teacher Mr Dada the late Mr Olowu was principal when i was there Mr Idebi was boading house master Good old days
